DAEL Telecom participates in dismantling outdated antenna locations

After the announcement of the merger of two Dutch telecom providers, the first transmission towers were switched off last summer in preparation to transfer all customers to the new network. DAEL Telecom is collaborating on the integration of both networks and has dismantled a stand-alone antenna located at the Carlton Hotel in Naaldwijk for this purpose.

A triple celebration: graduation of first DAEL Talents, interns, and DAEL Power Engineers

Last Friday we had a celebration with all DAEL employees that received their diploma. Unfortunately, a grand graduation celebration was not possible, so this we be rescheduled on a later date. But this celebratory moment cannot go unnoticed. Therefore our Managing Director Jeroen van Leeuwen treated our graduated on cake last Friday and our  Education Coordinator Diana van der Kaaij received a bouquet as a thank you. Congratulations to all!

DAEL Rail completes substation and relay house at Zwolle

ZWOLLE – Commissioned by NoorderSpoort, DAEL Rail realised a substation and relay house at the rail expansion between Zwolle and Herfte. To cope with the increasing rail traffic around Zwolle Station, more space will be created and the rails will be doubled. This extensive project started in 2018 and will be completed in 2022. In the meantime DAEL Rail completed the substation and relay house as part of the railway infrastructure.

DAEL extends camera system at Honderdland Business Park

MAASDIJK - Business Park Honderdland in Maasdijk, The Netherlands, is developing rapidly with the construction of new business premises. Because of the expansion of this area, the camera security system needed extension as well. At the end of 2019 DAEL Data & Electro was asked to provide the new business area with security cameras. In cooperation with DAEL Connectivity and partner company HNL Group the expansion of the security system is completed and in the mean time the furthest location already is fully operational.

DAEL Connectivity installs temporary mast at Custodial Institutions Agency Veenhuizen

Last Wednesday 18 March at 10 AM DAEL Connectivity received a call from the Dutch Ministry of Justice and Security. They asked for the possibilities for an improved internet connection at the Custodial Institutions Agency Veenhuizen. Due to the Coronavirus detainees are no longer allowed to receive visits and therefor the Custodial Institutions Agency was looking for solutions. DAEL Connectivity is able to offer these solutions and immediately looked for possibilities.

DAEL Security will provide EMECA with lectures on cybersecurity and resilience

DAEL Security colleague Tomas Olivier will provide the European Major Exhibition Centres Association (EMECA) with lectures on cybersecurity and resilience. These lectures will take place in the last week of March 2020 in Poznan, Poland.

Four new security lanes put into operation at Rotterdam The Hague Airport

Rotterdam The Hague Airport recently renewed its security equipment. This also means that DAEL Security takes care of the maintenance and service of four brand new security lanes. After a short test phase, this updated checkpoint could be put into operation this month.

Great rewards for most efficient drivers

To reduce the CO2 emission of the vehicle fleet DAEL started an internal competition called ‘Ecodrive Challenge’. Each quarter employees could earn gadgets and over the entire year they could earn individual and group prizes. There was an extra prize for the best team and best driver; a visit to the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter factory in Germany. This competition encourages the employees to drive more efficient and results in a reduction of the CO2 emission.

DAEL Security enlarges its geographical footprint

Our DAEL Security colleagues are travelling around the world to provide customers with training, to install machines, and to visit customers and expos in different countries. They already started exploring international markets a few years ago when they installed detection and security systems on airports in Benelux. In the last months of 2019, they enlarged this international footprint by visiting Iraq, UK, Germany, Uruguay, France, Denmark, Oman, United States and Italy. They will continue expanding their market in Q1 next year starting with activities in Albania and Montenegro.

Our new company DAEL Connectivity focuses on special projects with regard to connectivity

MAASDIJK – Our DAEL Telecom colleagues mainly work for mobile operators. However, they also engage in special projects with regard to connectivity. Point-to-point networks, private LTE, mesh networks, satcom, they have everything concerning connectivity solutions. Due to the growth of the department and the need to not only offer installation and integration, but also services and products, DAEL Connectivity arose. This company combines all techniques and offers custom products and services to companies.

After finishing substation Zwolle DAEL Rail starts working on the relay house

ZWOLLE – The substation in Zwolle has been delivered successfully and the project relay house has started. DAEL Rail realises a substation and relay house at the rail expansion between Zwolle and Herfte commissioned by Zwolse Alliantie Zwaluw (cooperation between VolkerWessels and ProRail). They needed more space to cope with the increasing rail traffic around Zwolle Station. They are building new railways to makes it possible for more trains to depart or arrive and therefore they make better use of Zwolle Station.

Kick off Digital Operations Centre

DELFT - Last week DAEL attended the Digital Operations Centre's kick off. This innovative centre located in Delft is realised by a cooperation of ROC Mondriaan, The Hague University of Applied Schiences, TU Delft, Municipality Delft and several technical companies. DAEL happily contributes to this cooperation between education and business. Together we can educate students for the future and make a better match between education and industry.

Work is in full progress at Freight Line Europe’s new premises

MAASDIJK – At the beginning of March the first pile for the new business premises of Freight Line Europe was driven. At the moment work is in full progress on the business area Honderdland in Maasdijk where this new premises is arising. The fully conditioned building not only comprises 4.000 m2 cooled space, but also extra cooling cells and 1.000 m2 of office rooms. DAEL Data & Electro takes care of the complete e-installation and weak current installation.

DAEL Security successfully installs eight new security lanes at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol

SCHIPHOL – Until a year ago there was only a parking space where there is now a brand new security filter for Dep. 1. Commissioned by Schiphol Group, DAEL Security has deployed eight complete security lanes here. After a brief testing phase, the new checkpoint was put into operation this week.

DAEL Group opts for Mercedes-Benz vans for another 3.5 years

MAASDIJK – Last week, the cooperation between DAEL Group and Mercedes-Benz Dealer Bedrijven was confirmed with an extension of the agreement for at least another 3.5 years. A recognition on the partnership with MBDB that has been around for five years.

DAEL Telecom UK ensures connectivity during festival season

To increase the mobile capacity on festivals and events DAEL Telecom UK deployed over 100 temporary telecommunication masts on events in the United Kingdom. These masts were deployed on behalf of multiple operators to ensure the quality of mobile services. One of these events was the Glastonbury Festival. On this five-day festival DAEL Telecom UK deployed 11 masts to make sure that the 175.000 visitors could benefit from better connectivity.

Students ISW Hoogeland back to school thanks to attentive engineers

Wednesday Afternoon, August 7th, our Data & Electro engineers were executing construction work at high school ISW Hoogeland Naaldwijk when they suddenly heard the fire alarm elsewhere in the building. Due to the summer holiday there were no other people present.

Awards for team with most efficient drivers

Maasdijk – Our fleet has an important share in the overall CO2 emission of DAEL. In order to reduce this amount of emission, we started an eco-driving competition, called the ‘EcoDrive Challenge’. This appeared to be a fun and efficient way to stimulate our colleagues to drive more economically and in that way reduce the fuel consumption and CO2 emission. Last Saturday, the team ‘Green DAEL’ won the award for most efficient driving in Q3 and colleague Wouter Verkade won the award of top 1 eco driver.

Successful DAEL Talent introduction week

Maasdijk – Last Monday 2 September our third group of DAEL Talents started the first year of their work and learn program. After the selection trajectory, a total of eleven talents were chosen to participate in the educational program. They started their year with a fun and diverse introduction week. In the coming years these talents will be trained by DAEL, in cooperation with ROC Mondriaan, to become technical engineers. Coming Monday ten of these talents will start with their work and learn program within the DAEL companies and one talent will follow his trajectory at installation company Stolze.

DAEL Security is exploring new international markets

DAEL Security is exploring new international markets. New colleague Tomas Olivier is responsible for International Relations, Business Development and Special Projects at DAEL Security. In the first week of October he will visit Muscat, the capital of Oman, for a tailor-made training programme. He will provide an undisclosed variety of customers with Financial Intelligence and AML training.

Jeroen van Leeuwen new managing director DAEL Group

As from 1 September 2019, Jeroen van Leeuwen has been appointed as the new managing director of the DAEL Group. He then succeeds André and Klaas van der Hout who choose to pave the way for a new director after nineteen years. It is up to Van Leeuwen to further shape the growth of the DAEL Group.

DAEL is finalising the new premises of Logiqs

MAASDIJK – In November 2018 Logiqs started the construction of their new business premises. DAEL Data & Electro takes care of the data and security installations of this building. Situated on the business area Honderdland in Maasdijk, close to the current head office of Logiqs, a beautiful business premises has been built which will be set to work in the end of summer.

DAEL Data & Electro successfully finished the project in Capelle

CAPELLE - Today, the renewed supermarket in shopping centre "De Terp" in Capelle aan den IJssel will be completed. DAEL Data & Electro provided this store with the complete e-installation and the lighting and fire alarm system. Our engineers successfully finished the activities in this German supermarket chain.
