DAEL Telecom participates in dismantling outdated antenna locations

After the announcement of the merger of two Dutch telecom providers, the first transmission towers were switched off last summer in preparation to transfer all customers to the new network. DAEL Telecom is collaborating on the integration of both networks and has dismantled a stand-alone antenna located at the Carlton Hotel in Naaldwijk for this purpose.

The next step for the telecom operator is to merge the use of the frequencies in its own network. Where possible, outdated telecom locations will be converted to the current network. The location at the Carlton Hotel in Naaldwijk was a stand-alone location which was not suitable for conversion. That is why our engineers have dismantled the current antenna mast and shut down this site.

It is expected that the conversions of the current network will progress quickly and that the 800MHz coverage area will be expanded rapidly. With the speed at which the old transmission towers are now switched off, the entire network can be switched off in the autumn. For this, a more powerful network returns and the promise to be the first Dutch provider to offer 5G nationwide. The merged organization will further shake up the Dutch telecom market and continue to challenge the current dominant operators in the Netherlands.
