Companies join forces for sustainable energy supply at Honderdland
Monday 7 April 2025
On 7 April 2025, Westland Infra Netbeheer and Energiecollectief (energy collective) Honderdland signed the group contract formalising their collaboration for a sustainable energy supply on the business park.
Energiecollectief Honderdland
In Energiecollectief Honderdland, 16 companies work together, including network operator Westland Infra, Anexo and DAEL Energy. The energy collective helps to make better use of the limited network capacity and enables sustainable growth. The companies can cleverly distribute the energy among themselves and use energy efficiently. The Province of South Holland, the Municipality of Westland and Rabobank made it possible to investigate the various energy flows on the business park with a financial contribution.
A step forward
Councilor Peter Valstar is enthusiastic: "The success of this collective is the cooperation between the companies. This partnership brings us one step closer to a more sustainable Westland. By working together locally, we can realize innovative solutions. Energiecollectief Honderdland is also an inspiring example for other business parks. ”
Paul Langereis, director of Westland Infra Netbeheer: "Energiecollectief Honderdland shows what is possible when entrepreneurs, the municipality and the network operator join forces. By working together as companies and using smart solutions, we can make optimal use of the available network capacity. This allows everyone to continue to grow sustainably. This collective is a good example of how we can move forward together, despite all the challenges on the energy grid. ”
Working together on a green future
DAEL Energy supervised the creation of Energiecollectief Honderdland. Manager Jan de Wilde: “In the coming years, the challenge lies in coordinating energy demand, especially in view of the increasing demand for electricity due to, for example, the growth of electric transport. Collaboration and smart energy solutions play a crucial role in this."
Andre van der Hout, director of Energiecollectief Honderdland: “We are facing major challenges in the energy transition and this energy collective shows how companies jointly create innovative solutions. By joining our knowledge and forces, we ensure that we can do business in a future-proof manner. ”
Sustainable and innovative
The energy collective has the ambition to grow further and to be an example for other business parks in the Netherlands. By making smart use of local energy flows and innovative technologies, the entrepreneurs involved want to keep their energy supply stable and sustainable in the future.
